Royal Liverpool Gastroenterologist elected President of British Society of Gastroenterology

Professor Jonathan Rhodes has been elected President of the British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG), taking over from the current President, Professor Chris Hawkey, in March 2010.

The BSG is an organisation with over 3000 members including physicians, surgeons, pathologists, radiologists, scientists, nurses and dieticians. The BSG exists to maintain high standards of patient care in gastroenterology and is a major force in British medicine.

The BSG runs an annual scientific conference which this year will be held in Liverpool.
